FAMILY & FRIENDS DAY

Saturday 20th July 2013, 12 noon to 4pm

A special day to welcome friends and family of our members and enjoy an afternoon together. This will take place in our grounds or within the centre if the weather is not being kind to us. We will be raising funds for our centre and we will encourage you to part with your cash on our cake stall, tombolla, jumble table, BBQ, raffle and many other entertaining activities.

Refreshments will be available.

If you are not already a member, this is a great time to come and meet the team and talk to our members without having to make a committment.

'Day Care' is an old fashioned phrase and one we hope to lose. We are a Members Club for anyone who who wants company and interaction with others.

We offer membership for up to 30 people per day, four days a week, Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Our members come from our local community, up to a 10 miles radius of our club. We offer a program of activities to stimulate the mind and the body. We are based behind the Baptist Church in the hamlet of Meeting Hill in the Old School Room. We are a Registered Charity overseen by a Committee of Trustees which consists of people from the Community.

The Club has a Manager responsible for the day to day running, and assessing the needs of our members.
Our aims are to improve the quality of life for people within our community in a safe environment and to offer them, their families and carers much needed support, which enables them to continue living in their own homes & communities much longer. We like our members to participate in the decisions made which involve them. M
embers and their families are part of the management consultative committee that meet every 2 months to plan activities and events.

Apart from day activities, we offer a befriending service outside of the centre and voluntary car service.

We welcome anyone who is lonely or lives with family who themselves need a break.

We have an experienced cook who provides a lovely home cooked meal and refreshments throughout the day. She is assisted by volunteers who help her in the kitchen. We offer our members help with daily care if necessary, including bathing for those who request it by one of our Care Assistants.  We are proud to have the generous support of many volunteers who help generally to entertain and chat to our members.

Social Services Registered and Monitored.
